An archaeological site always means adventure and romance--at least
in the movies.
1.) Ace Drummond
1936. A thirteen-part serial about adventurer Ace Drummond, chasing
after the famous archaeologistfather of heroine Peggy Trainor. Almost
certainly one of the influences on Lucas and Spielberg's Indiana Jones
trilogy.

1950. A great adventure film with Deborah Kerr, Stewart Granger, Richard
Carlson go-ahunting for a diamond mine; won an academy award for cinematography,

4.) Pimpernel Smith
1942. This is an adventure movie about a famous archaeologist named
Leslie Howard who moonlights as a spy during World War II. That damned
elusive Pimpernel!
5.) The Valley of the Kings
1954. Another adventure movie about a famous archeologist named Robert
Taylor who is searching for ancient tombs in Egypt when the beautiful
Eleanor Parker appears, seeking proof of the biblical Joseph's travels
in ancient Egypt.
